One of the guiding ideas behind Analog Node is that the BBS scene already has strong communities — and that new projects should integrate with them, not fragment them.
With that in mind, I’m happy to announce that Sysops-Finest.org is now the official community, support, and outreach platform for Analog Node.
Why Sysops-Finest?
Sysops-Finest has long been a gathering place for:
- Active BBS sysops
- Terminal and modem enthusiasts
- ANSI artists and retro developers
- People who still care about how things actually work
It’s a natural fit for Analog Node’s focus on:
- Dial-up, telnet, VoIP, and hybrid BBS connectivity
- Terminal software and real hardware
- ANSI art, BBS culture, and preservation
- Practical HOWTOs written by and for sysops
Rather than launching a separate forum or siloed Discord, Analog Node will participate directly in an existing sysop-driven space.
Dedicated Forums & Real-Time Chat
Analog Node now has dedicated forums on Sysops-Finest.org, covering:
- Announcements & updates
- Technical support and discussion
- Feedback, ideas, and requests
- ANSI art and Block&Line-related topics
There is also a dedicated chatroom available for real-time discussion when appropriate — whether that’s troubleshooting a modem issue or talking ANSI art.
This allows:
- Open discussion visible to the wider BBS community
- Searchable solutions instead of private tickets
- Collaboration between sysops, artists, and developers
How to Get Support or Get Involved
If you:
- Have a question about a guide or HOWTO
- Want help with modems, terminals, or BBS setup
- Run a BBS and want to be featured
- Create ANSI art or want to contribute to Block&Line
- Have feedback or corrections to offer
Sysops-Finest is the place to start.
Analog Node will continue publishing articles and resources here on the site, but discussion, support, and collaboration will happen openly through the Sysops-Finest forums.
Building This Together
Analog Node isn’t meant to be a one-way content site. It’s an attempt to:
- Document what sysops already know
- Lower the barrier for newcomers
- Preserve working knowledge before it disappears
- Support the analog and terminal-driven side of computing
By anchoring this project in an existing sysop community, the goal is to keep it grounded, useful, and accountable.
Thanks to the Sysops-Finest admins for providing the space — and thanks to the sysops, artists, and users who continue to keep BBS culture alive.
See you on the boards.
